Romero was born and raised in Brazil. During his college years he traveled to Italy and studied economics and culinary, being futured on a culinary magazine in Hawaii and California. He is a native Portuguese speaker who also is proficient in Spanish and Italian as well as English. In coming to the U.S., he was given the opportunity to manage a small fleet of boat rentals and found a passion for the water. In the years following he opened his own boat rental business and found a higher calling with larger vessels. 15 years ago, he became a yacht captain on vessels over 100 foot and a U.S. citizen (American) in the same year, being called by a few close friends as a joke “Captain American”. His skillset was put to the test and he found an innate calm and sense of purpose when at the helm. He also worked at commercial vessels in the Gulf obtaining his 500-ton master and he is in process to his 1600-ton this year. Romero owns a 50 acres ranch in Brazil with horses and cattle. He also loves motorcycle and racing cars.
