Princess yachts, crafted in Plymouth, England, are high performance motor yachts ranging from 39feet / 12meters to 132feet / 40meters. Every Princess yacht is designed with forward-thinking mentality and crafted with meticulous attention to detail. Employing over two thousand people across six huge factories in and around Plymouth and building over three hundred yachts annually, Princess celebrated their 50th Anniversary last year.

In 1965, David King and two friends fitted out and chartered their first boat, marking the beginning of Marine Projects (Plymouth) Ltd, today known as Princess Yachts. Over 130 yachts were produced and sold between 1966 and 1969.

In 1981, South African businessman Graham J. Beck bought Marine Projects and in 2001 the company was officially renamed as Princess Yachts International, with production split over three sites in Devonport, Plympton and Lee Mill. In 1982, the Princess 45 was introduced, a landmark design, and at the time the largest production motor yacht in the United Kingdom.

In June 2008, Beck sold a 75% stake in the business to French businessman Bernard Arnault‘s investment group, L Capital 2 FCPR, a division of LVMH. The LVMH group includes over 60 international luxury brands including Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Fendi, De Beers, Moet Chandon, Veuve Clicquot, and Krug.

Other Marine interests include superyacht builder Feadship. Today, with David King still remaining as Chairman, Princess has over 10,000 yachts sold and their shipyards cover an area of over 1.1 million square feet.

Princess is known for pioneering deep-V hulls, born from their naval architects’ obsession with exceptional sea-keeping and abundant space. Their sculpted form is shaped from a lightweight, resin-infused hull composite which can create greater internal volume compared to standard hull production methods. This design ensures the requirement of less power and burns less fuel to achieve its maximum design speed. In 2010 Princess became the first major European boat-builder to be awarded ISO14001.

Every Princess model up to 85 feet (26m) in length meets the RINA Green Plus (Y) notation, an independently verified environmental accreditation from the Classification Society RINA and applies to each individual model.

The up-to-date fleet of Princess consists of the M Class, Flybridge, V Class and S Class. The M Class is the epitome of Princess and the range consists of Princess 30M (100feet / 30meters), Princess 35M (115feet / 35meters), Princess 40M (132feet / 40meters). The M Class 35M is the winner of The World Superyacht Awards 2016 from Boat International. The 40M was named Best Production Motor Yacht (24m to 40m) at the 9th annual Asia Boating Awards.

The Flybridge range consists of the 88, 82, 75, 72, 68, 64, 60, 56, 52, 49 and 43, ranging from 46feet / 14meters to 88feet / 27meters. The Princess 43 won The 2014 Motor Boat Award.

The V Class, named for it’s deep V hull, consists of the V62-S, V58, V58 OPEN, V52, V48, V48OPEN and V39, ranging from 42 feet / 12 meters to 63feet / 19meters. The Princess V48 was the 2015 Motor Boat Award Winner in the sports cruiser over 45-foot category.

The S class, the more sporty range, consists of the S72 (72feet / 22meters) and the S65 (66feet / 20meters). The Princess S72, launched in 2014, was awarded the coveted prize in the over 55-foot category in the 2015 Motor Boat Awards.

To mark their 50th year celebration, Princess completed the full refurbishment of PROJECT31 (one of the original yachts sold) and launched a line of merchandise from clothing to a Princess 50th anniversary limited edition SeaBob.
