The history of Offshore Yachts dates back to World War II when founder, Richard O. Hunt, pioneered a new construction of auxiliary navy vessels using laminated fiberglass. This unique alternative to steel, which was facing shortages in the U.S. at the time, has since led to great advancements in yacht building. The first pleasure craft using laminated fiberglass was constructed in 1948 by Richard O. Hunt and ten years later the company grew into a family business.

In the 1960’s Offshore Yachts partnered with renowned naval architect, William Crealock. His visionary “deep fore foot” designs led to a successful range of high-speed cruising yachts. These designs have deeply influenced Offshore Yachts and continue to be the foundation for their construction.  In addition, the “finely veed” design of the forward section has provided a sense of stability and safety on the water even in adverse weather conditions. Offshore Yachts’ commitment and attention to detail during construction is continued through the entire build process, with emphasis placed on interior elegance and luxurious accommodations.
